OK, I have to admit that this wasn't what I expected from the title...lol.
When I got the assignment it was listed as being held at the Seelbach Hilton, but that was, in reality, the formal dinner AFTER the actual event. This event was a celebration of faith, put on by the Center for InterFaith Relations. My venue was a labyrinth of canopies leading to the Cathedral of the Assumption where the actual program was held.
There was a fairly large contingent of Japanese theologians who traveled over seas to take part in the week-long series of activities related to, and leading to this finale. I got to meet former Archbishop Thomas Kelly who was later honored in the cathedral by community leader Owsley Brown Frazier after the entire group was lead in by a pair of bagpipers.
Celebrated musician, Henry Pickens, along with Chris Fitzgerald and Dick Sisto created and performed an amazing piece called "Song of Creation 2007.)
